so far my New Years celebration has consisted of:
Chilling with my dad in the living room, each of us surfing the internets with our laptops, watching cage fighting and making sarcastic comments about commercials. Also commentators who mispronounce ‘guillotine’.
I <3 my dad.
Time to go get ready for some hot tub action! (not with my dad.)

"Tonight the moon is full,
and tonight our sweet dear planet will have made one more inexorable journey around the sun — safely carrying us through the velvety blackness of space, with just enough distance and just enough tilt for our lives to continue on. This, to me, is simply amazing.”

found this in my notes from Peace & Social Justice Studies:

Thoughts?

There's this story about Gandhi.
One day, a woman approached Gandhi and explained that her son was eating too many sweets; she was afraid he would ruin his health.
“Please, Mahatma, he will not listen to what I say. If you tell him to stop eating sweets, he will stop.” Gandhi replied, “Come back in two weeks’ time.”
After two weeks, the woman came back with her son. Gandhi turned to the boy and...

Professor Quotes!

These come from the mouth of my beloved Theology professor, an extremely intelligent, well-educated pastor for whom I have mucho respect. Some require a bit of an explanation, but in my opinion they’re worth the read. Enjoy:

There are old men clinging to trees and mothers being ripped from their children and people dying right in front of me. And now there are dead feet sticking out of piles of debris. And now home video footage of a family finding their 15-year-old daughter’s...
