February 2012
We’re really stressed. Supposed to be leaving tomorrow and we’re not done packing, nor do we have a place to live. We’ve sent a ton of emails & gotten a few responses, but nothing has worked out so far. I’m feeling really discouraged and rushed and overwhelmed. I wish this were easier.

How to Remove Your Google Search History Before... →
On March 1st, Google will implement its new, unified privacy policy, which will affect data Google has collected on you prior to March 1st as well as data it collects on you in the future. Until now, your Google Web History (your Google searches and sites visited) was cordoned off from Google’s other products. This protection was especially important because search data can reveal...

So we responded to a housing ad a few days ago that sounded really great. It’s a couple willing to rent their extra bedroom to another couple, which is sort of hard to find. In the ad they mentioned that they’d like to have really open-minded roommates because they live what you’d call an “alternative” lifestyle. I read this and was like, sweet, these people are a...

THE RIGHT WORD
You might try to pacify a crying baby, to appease a demanding boss, to mollify a friend whose feelings have been hurt, and to placate an angry crowd. While all of these verbs have something to do with quieting people who are upset, excited, or disturbed, each involves taking a slightly different approach. Pacify suggests soothing or calming (the mother made soft cooing noises in an attempt to...

I can’t believe how awful this situation is. I am getting absolutely zero support from my family for this move. Or anything, for that matter. My mom is fighting me hard. Every time the trip is brought up (and it’s not even as often as one would think) she only has negativity to offer. We can’t talk without screaming at each other. This is how it’ll be until I move. I know...

I got a second interview! I’m really surprised. I felt like the first one went pretty well, but as time went on (it was a week ago yesterday) I sort of pushed it out of my head and figured I was too weird or incompetent to get a second one. It’s nice to know all that negative self-talk was misguided. Even if I’m not good enough to get a job, I’m at least good enough to...

Green Your Period: DivaCup Review and Giveaway
carlynondrunkenberg: becauseiamawoman: I finally did it! I used my DivaCup, and let me tell you- there is no going back. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what it is, a DivaCup is a menstrual cup that you insert when you have your period. It catches all your menstrual blood, and when it is full you simply dump it in the toilet, rinse it out, and re-insert it!  According to their...

loversdreamersandme asked: Hello lovely creature, that is a painting I did! My friend sketched it out on my closet doors and I painted it, the bottom half doesn't look as good as the top, it has been unfinished for years now. I should really just finish it already! But thanks for the kind words, it made me smile! Sending you well wishes. <3

I spent the first half of today wallowing in a depthless pit of despair. Cut to 7:30pm after a toke, a cup of delicious German tea, and some rain and I’m smiley and positive. Don’t call it a comeback.

Yay! Everyone is doing the Colorgenics test.
tuesdaysuit / sirlestrange: You should too, tbh. Try it out here. It’s incredibly accurate. Incredibly accurate is a motherfucking understatement. I like to take these tests but normally don’t post the results because let’s be real, who reads them? But this one… I need it here, if only to explain to interested parties (or my future self) how things are for me right...

I just decided to spare you, internet, from a long, confusing post that was filled with absolute word-vomit. Suffice it to say that I’m not doing well. There are so many things I need to explain to someone, when I finally make an attempt it comes out so disjointed that even I have a hard time following along. I’m not doing well. This is all very, very difficult. These next few months...

Interview over. I was a Nervous Nelly the whole time, talking too fast and sweating like crazy. Thank god for phone interviews so those people didn’t have to see me in person, I tell you what. I feel like I did pretty well. There was one question I wish I would’ve answered differently, but the rest of my answers were good. They just started interviewing today so I’ll find out...
